2度のF1ワールドチャンピオン、フェルナンド・アロンソが、5月16日、バーチャルレースに初めて参戦した。『ザ・レース・オールスター・シリーズ』オランダ・ザントフォールト戦の『レジェンズ・トロフィー』に参加、次のインディアナポリス戦への参戦も宣言している。

　アロンソは、改修された新バージョンのザントフォールトをブラバムBT44で競うレースに、ブルー、レッド、イエローのお馴染みのアストゥリアス／スペインカラーのマシンでエントリーした。シミュレーターが到着した翌日に実戦にデビューすることになったアロンソは、予選で4番手と健闘。しかし、決勝ではスピンや接触を何度か繰り返す展開となり、第1レース、第2レースともリタイアという結果に終わった。

　アロンソは「今日のシムレースは楽しかった！　来週はインディでまたチャレンジするよ」とコメントしている。次回の『レジェンズ・トロフィー』はインディアナポリス・モータースピードウェイを使用して行われる予定だ。

　第1レースのトップ3はヤン・マグヌッセン、ジェンソン・バトン、ファン・パブロ・モントーヤ、リバースグリッドで行われた第2レースのトップ3は、エマニュエル・ピッロ、アンディ・プリオール、ダレン・ターナーという結果だった。
