F1タイヤサプライヤーのピレリは、10月7日、8日に2020年用タイヤのテストをスペイン・バルセロナで開催、初日にはフェラーリとレッドブルが走行を担当した。

　2020年用F1タイヤの開発作業の仕上げを行うため、ピレリは追加テストの許可を求め、これが認められて2日間のテスト開催が決定した。

　フェラーリからはセバスチャン・ベッテル、レッドブルからはアレクサンダー・アルボンが参加。ベッテルは145周、アルボンは115周を走行したと、ピレリは伝えている。テスト2日目の8日には、メルセデスのリザーブドライバー、エステバン・オコンが走行を担当する予定となっている。

　なお、この2日間には同時にFIA-F2の2020年用18インチタイヤのテストも行われている。
