9月12日、フランスのポール・リカール・サーキットでF1タイヤサプライヤーのピレリが2020年、2021年に向けたタイヤ開発テストを行った。テストは2日間にわたって実施される。

　2021年に導入される18インチタイヤがコース上で本格的にテストされるのはこれが初めて。今回はルノーが協力、モディファイ版R.S.18でリザーブドライバーのセルゲイ・シロトキンが94周を走行した。

　メルセデスは2020年向けタイヤ開発テストにあたり、リザーブドライバーのエステバン・オコンが106周を走りこんだ。
